Quick & Positive Change: Innovation

No one questions the necessity of innovation. Not only innovation of products and services, but also of  business models, social innovation and application and marketing of innovations. And yet the capacity to innovate of the BV Netherlands seems mediocre at best. Why?

 

Based on our recent literature- and field research we have identified critical success factors for innovation and related characteristics in the Dutch culture. The model below shows the tention between what is necessary for successful innovation and what we regularly experience and seem to accept at work. Does is look familiar?

Innovation starts with facing current reality (1) and having a compelling vision for the desired future (2). Then it comes down to thinking (3), daring (4) and doing (5).

 

According to the Global CEO Study 2006 by IBM among 765 CEO’s, a non-supporting culture and working climate are the most important internal impediments for innovation.  Followed by limited invesment capacity and personnel problems. Human Treasures has translated the key roadblocks into some 40 success factors on individual, team and organisational level.

Depending on your specific situation like the purpose of your project, the type of innovation, the context, available core competencies and bottlenecks we select and adept the key success factors with you.

 

We use this selection as a starting point for a quick and positive energizing workshop process with a maximum of 25 key players. In merely one day you may experience a flying start and improved commitment for your innovation project.

 

The basis for this process is a constructive and appreciative dialogue (jargon: Appreciative Inquiry - AI) honouring the qualities that are already there. Peak experiences of participants with the strongest success factors form the starting point of the day.  Discovered qualities in people, processes and systems serve as sources for inspiration and creativity leading to design of smart action plans and remove impediments.
